Annual team tryouts are held in May before the Fall season. All prospective players must register to attend a tryout for their appropriate age group. Please see the tryout schedule and registration link in our tryout information section below.

If you would like to inquire about joining a DFA team after annual tryouts have passed, please contact our Director Dani for more information.

In order to tryout, all players must be registered in their respective age group below.

When should players arrive?

  • Players should arrive 20 minutes early to their tryout to check in with a DFA staff member or coach.

What to bring?

  • Players should come prepared with the following:

  • ball

  • shin guards (required)

  • soccer cleats (non-metal) OR turf shoes

  • water

  • mask (optional)

What to wear?

  • Players must wear a white t-shirt (as plain as possible - no DFA, other youth team/club logo or jersey), black shorts (or other weather appropriate bottoms), and white or black socks.

What happens after the tryout?

  • After the tryout, the age group director will inform parents by email about a player’s status on a team. This will happen within 1-2 days of tryouts. A deadline will be given to players to accept or deny an offer. Parents will be provided with the player program guide that will give information about the club, fee structure, league structure, parent and player requirements/code of conduct, and the next steps to reserve a player spot on the team.

What does it cost to join a DFA team?

  • Costs vary by team, age, level of play, and a team’s goals. All team fee information will be provided to parents via the player program guide.
